What a mini-course is
A mini-course is one subject, start to finish, in eight weeks. You join a small group of adults, meet at the same time each week at our studio at 33 West Street in Downtown Crossing, and work through a structured curriculum with a working musician who specializes in that instrument. Cohorts have limited capacity, so everyone gets time on the gear and direct attention from the instructor.
This is a different shape from our ongoing lessons and group classes. Group classes run on a drop-in basis, the way you would drop into a spin class, and private lessons run at whatever pace you set. A mini-course has a fixed start date, a fixed end date and a defined outcome: you finish with a DJ set, a batch of finished songs, or your own recordings. If you want one skill built properly on a schedule you can plan around, this is the format.
Anyone can enroll, and you do not need to be a member. Active members pay a reduced rate on every mini-course. If you are still deciding, the Intro Week is a $100 paid experience that gets you into the space and into classes first, and the $100 applies toward a membership or a lesson pack if you continue. We teach adults only, from complete beginners to players coming back after years away, and we are a short walk from every T line.
