Getting here on the T

Downtown Crossing is the closest stop and sits on the Red and Orange lines, about two minutes on foot from the door. Park Street (Red and Green) and State (Blue and Orange) are both a short walk, and South Station brings in the Silver Line and the commuter rail. Every MBTA line reaches us without a long transfer, which is the practical reason our students come from across the city rather than only from one neighborhood.

Members regularly travel in from the Financial District, Beacon Hill, the South End, the North End, the Seaport, Back Bay and Charlestown. West Street runs between Washington Street and Tremont Street, opposite Boston Common.

Driving in is possible but street parking in Downtown Crossing is limited. The garages on Washington Street and around Boston Common are the usual choice.

What do you need?

Most questions have a page that answers them properly. Start here and call us if it does not.

You want to start lessons

Intro Week is the way in. It is a paid $100 experience, and the $100 applies toward a membership or a lesson pack if you continue.

You want to see the group class timetable

Classes run in groups of 3 to 6 people, and you drop into one the way you would drop into a spin class. Around 150 run every month.

You are planning a corporate event

Battle of the Bands is our two hour team building experience, built so that people who have never played an instrument can take part.

You have a question about membership

Membership tiers run from $160 to $480 per month and cover lessons, classes and practice room access in different combinations.

You want to teach here

We hire instructors who perform actively in Boston and teach a single primary instrument, so students learn guitar from a working guitarist.

Who we teach

Musicians Playground is built for adult hobbyists. Everyone here is an adult, from complete beginners picking up a first instrument to players returning after years away.
