What Our Piano Students Say

Hear from members of our community about their experience:

"

I have been a member of Musicians Playground for over 5 and half years! I joined as a beginner pianist and now I can play more complicated pieces than I had ever imagined. Alyssa, the founder, has cultivated an amazing community. Learning an instrument isn't always easy, but you can always count on her being your biggest cheerleader.

CHIRAYU P.

"

I work full time and take the evening piano classes with the CEO, Alyssa. She has 20 years of teaching experience and is a trained classical pianist. Alyssa uses cool piano lab technology to facilitate group learning which means that we can practice individually while being in a group setting. Group lessons are truly collaborative AND personalized!

MARLA C.

"

I have been a member of MP since 2015 and have loved my experience. It is so unique to belong to a space that is so focused on adult learners and fosters an environment of adult hobbyists. I feel so lucky that a place like MP exists. I've been able to book practice time on the weekends on the baby grand piano as well!

Piano Lesson FAQs

While having a piano or keyboard at home is helpful for practice, it's not required to start. We have pianos available at our studio for your lessons and practice sessions. Many students begin without an instrument and acquire one as they progress.

Most adult beginners can play simple songs within 2-3 months of consistent practice. Within 6-12 months, you'll be comfortable with more complex pieces. The timeline varies based on practice frequency and musical goals.

Absolutely not! Adults often learn faster than children because they have better focus, discipline, and understanding of music theory concepts. Many of our students started in their 30s, 40s, 50s, and beyond.

We teach a variety of styles including classical, pop, jazz, blues, and contemporary music. Our instructors work with you to focus on the styles and songs you're most interested in learning.

We offer both! Our group classes use a silent piano system so students can learn together without distraction. Private lessons provide one-on-one attention for personalized instruction.
