Bass Instructor
Berklee College of Music
Miles is a multi-instrumentalist, performer, and songwriter from Los Angeles with a bachelor's degree in performance from Berklee College of Music, specializing in guitar and electric bass. With teaching experience ranging from coaching bands to private instruction in guitar, bass, piano, drums, and songwriting, he brings unique insight into how instruments work together. Miles teaches strong fundamentals using songs his students love, inspiring them to discover their own sound while offering guidance on performing and navigating the Boston music scene.
George
Bass Instructor
University of Massachusetts Lowell
George writes and records the bass parts for The Ghouls, the Boston band that took Rock Artist of the Year at the 2024 Boston Music Awards, so he teaches bass the way he uses it: as the thing that decides whether a song moves. He holds a Bachelor of Music in Composition for New Media from UMass Lowell and has spent nearly four years teaching in private and group settings. Rock is his ground, with fingerstyle and slap technique and the note choice that comes from writing parts rather than only copying them. He works best with adult beginners and returning players who want to lock in with a drummer and hold a song down. If your goal is jazz bass, he will tell you so and point you to a better fit.

Bass Guitar Lesson FAQs
Electric bass. Private lessons are built around it, from four string fundamentals through the styles you actually want to play, and bass players join the guitar group classes. We do not teach upright bass.
Bass has fewer strings and often plays single notes rather than chords, which some find easier initially. However, bass requires developing strong rhythm and groove skills. Both instruments have their challenges.
We have bass amps at our studio for lessons. For home practice, a small practice amp or headphone amp is recommended but not required to start.
We teach rock, pop, funk, jazz, R&B, and more. Bass is essential in virtually every music genre, and our instructors help you develop skills for the styles you enjoy.
Bass is the foundation of any band! It connects the rhythm section to the harmony and drives the groove. Bassists are always in demand for bands and musical projects.
The $100 Intro Week is the best way to start: a one hour private lesson, 7 days of unlimited group classes, and open practice time. If you continue, your $100 applies toward a membership or lesson pack. Memberships run $170 to $480 per month depending on how many private lessons and group classes you want.
