You are not too late, and the reason is mechanical.
An adult understands the layout of a keyboard in one sitting: twelve repeating notes, a pattern of black keys, done. A seven year old takes a term. You have also listened to tens of thousands of hours of music, so you already know what a groove feels like and what a snare should sound like. That reference library is the hard part, and you arrive with it built. Rhythm, in particular, is where adults have a genuine advantage.
The honest version: you will not become a concert pianist starting at 45. Almost nobody becomes one starting at 5 either. What you can do, reliably and within a year, is play music you actually like, well enough to enjoy playing it. That is what nearly everyone asking the question actually wants, and it has never been age-limited. Many of our students started in their 30s, 40s, 50s and beyond, and because the studio is adults only, you will not be the oldest person in the room.

Intro to Piano, Intro to Guitar, Intro to Drums and Voice Hits I are built for adults with no experience, and every private lesson starts with a conversation about what you want to play rather than a placement test. The studio is adults only, so the room is full of people who started later than they meant to.

No. We have pianos including a Yamaha GC1 grand, Taylor acoustic guitars, Ibanez electric guitars, basses and amps, acoustic and electronic drum kits, and Pioneer DJ controllers, all available for lessons, classes and open practice. Plenty of people take their first few lessons before deciding what belongs at home.
Roughly two to three months to play simple songs on piano, about three months to play recognisable songs on guitar and six to play them well, and progress you can hear within weeks on voice. The variable is not talent, it is how often you practise between lessons, which is why group classes and open practice time are included rather than sold separately.
