STUDIO MANAGER & MEMBER EXPERIENCE LEAD

Lead the Member Experience at Boston's Gym for Musicians

Part-Time / Downtown Crossing, Boston / $27.50–30/hr

Are you someone who thrives in hospitality, boutique fitness, wellness, retail, or community-centered environments where relationships genuinely matter?

Do you enjoy helping others, solving problems, bringing calm to fast-moving environments, and creating spaces where people feel genuinely welcomed, cared for, and excited to return?

Are you excited by the opportunity to help grow a meaningful, mission-driven business while stepping into a leadership role with room for long-term growth?

If so, you may be exactly who we're looking for.

About Musicians Playground

We're Boston's first and only "gym for musicians," a vibrant adults-only music community designed for people who want more joy, creativity, confidence, and connection through music. Our 3,000 sq ft Downtown Crossing studio offers private lessons, group classes, performances, and corporate events, plus unlimited practice access for members.

Our members come to us to reduce stress, rediscover play, build confidence, and reconnect with parts of themselves they haven't had time for in years. They're growth-oriented, kind, and genuinely excited to be here, which makes this one of the most rewarding hospitality roles in the city.

The Role

You'll lead day-to-day member experience alongside another part-time Studio Manager and our leadership team. The work blends hospitality, sales, light operations, event support, and team coordination.

A typical day might include welcoming members, giving a studio tour to a prospective member, following up with leads, supporting a teacher between lessons, helping prep for a Friday happy hour, and keeping the space looking beautiful. No two days are identical, and that's part of what makes it fun.

What you'll be doing

Member experience and hospitality

  • Welcome members warmly and make every visit feel personal and seamless.
  • Build real relationships and proactively support members' goals.
  • Solve problems calmly and create an environment people are excited to return to.
  • Membership growth and sales

  • Lead studio tours and guide prospective members toward the right path.
  • Follow up thoughtfully with leads and inquiries.
  • Have warm, consultative sales conversations that help people confidently take the next step.
  • Support studio sales and retention goals through exceptional service.
  • Studio operations

  • Run opening and closing procedures.
  • Keep the studio clean, organized, and beautiful.
  • Support scheduling, inventory, and vendor coordination.
  • Team, community, and events

  • Support teachers and leadership with what they need to do great work.
  • Help execute happy hours, showcases, workshops, and occasional corporate events (roughly once a month, Friday events may run until 9:00 PM).
  • Who you are

You're naturally warm, highly reliable, and energized by helping others have an exceptional experience. You see solutions before problems, stay calm under pressure, and enjoy making things better. You're comfortable with technology and pick up new systems quickly.

    You likely bring:

  • Prior leadership or supervisory experience in a customer-facing environment (boutique fitness, hospitality, retail, wellness, membership businesses, or creative arts).
  • A track record of supporting sales goals, client retention, or business growth.
  • Strong communication, organization, and follow-through.
  • An eye for design and a real care for how spaces feel.
  • Comfort with platforms like Mindbody, Google Workspace, ClickUp, Klaviyo, Canva, and CRM tools (or the ability to learn them quickly).
  • Musical experience is welcome but absolutely not required.

    Compensation and benefits

  • $27.50–30/hour

    Roughly $40,000–47,000 annualized.

  • Quarterly performance bonuses

Tied to sales, retention, and member experience.

  • Complimentary Soloist Mini Membership ($320/month value)

Two private lessons, up to 8 group classes, and unlimited practice time.

  • Commuter benefits
  • Paid training, onboarding, and virtual team meetings
  • A clear pathway toward full-time leadership as we expand to multiple locations
  • Schedule

Consistent 4-day onsite schedule, 28–30 hours/week. Choose one:
