Who we are

Musicians Playground is a vibrant, welcoming music community designed for adult hobbyists—like a gym, but for musicians. Located in the heart of Downtown Crossing, our 3,000 sq ft studio is filled with top-tier instruments, amenities, and creative energy. We offer private lessons, group classes, music-based team-building events, and more. We’re seeking experienced, passionate guitar teachers who value music as fun, connection, and personal wellness—and who want to teach without the burden of running their own business.

  • Who we’re looking for

  • Music degree (or graduating within 6 months).
  • 2+ years of teaching in private & group settings.
  • Confident across contemporary styles (pop, rock, folk, indie, etc.).
  • Loves working with adult hobbyists; brings warm, collaborative energy.
  • Sees music as fun, connection, and personal wellness.
  • Wants to be part of a professional, inspiring team.
  • Bonus skills

  • Plays additional instruments.
  • Background in music education/pedagogy.
  • Arranging, producing, or audio engineering experience.
  • Performance/bandleading experience.
  • Strong customer service/communication.
  • What you’ll be doing

  • Teach private and group guitar lessons to adult hobbyists.
  • Support guitar department growth and curriculum.
  • Assist with new-client scheduling and communication.
  • Help with special events and music-based team-building experiences.
  • Participate in weekly staff meetings and ongoing training.
  • Contribute to curriculum or community initiatives (optional).
  • Schedule & commitment

  • Minimum: 2 days/week, 12+ peak hours

    Peak times: Mon–Thu 3–9pm, Fri 3–7pm, Sat/Sun 9–5pm.

  • Weekly team meeting

    Wednesdays 1–2pm (virtual).

  • Light but responsive communication

    Check Slack & email daily.

  • Periodic client events

    Fridays or Sundays with 1+ month notice.

  • Minimum 1-year commitment

    Growth opportunities over time.
