Use this guide to understand the different types of adult music group classes available, what each level means, and where to start.

Why Take Adult Music Group Classes?

Adult music group classes help you:

  • Practice more consistently
  • Learn new songs and techniques
  • Build confidence playing with others
  • Meet fellow music lovers
  • Get more support between private lessons
  • Stay inspired throughout your membership

Private lessons give you personalized coaching. Group classes give you more opportunities to apply what you’re learning, collaborate, and stay in the habit of making music.

Signature Adult Music Group Classes

Band

Best for: Playing with others, building confidence, and experiencing the energy of a real band.

In Band class, you’ll learn your part of a song, then bring it together with other musicians. This is one of the most social classes on our schedule and a great stepping stone toward Band+.

Hits

Best for: Learning popular songs while building practical skills.

Hits classes focus on favorite songs while helping you develop technique, rhythm, confidence, and musicality. Each class includes warm-ups, exercises, and step-by-step song work.

Lab

Best for: Guided practice and personalized support.

Bring a song, project, or musical idea you’re working on. You’ll have time to practice independently while receiving feedback from an instructor in a supportive small-group setting.

Specialty Adult Music Group Classes

How to Choose the Right Adult Music Group Class

Start with your current level and your main goal.

If you want to build fundamentals, start with Level I or Level II Hits.

If you want more practice support, try Lab.

If you want to play with others, try Band.

If you want a more focused challenge, try a specialty class like Jazz Piano, Lead Guitar, MP Cappella, or Broadway Hits.

If you’re unsure where to start, ask your private lesson instructor for class recommendations based on your goals and current level.
